I built ScriptChecker for StemHarmen: a free tool for media agencies, advertising agencies, and commercial producers who want to optimise their voice-over scripts for broadcast timing and delivery.
The tool counts syllables, not words. That gives more accurate timing estimates for short-form content like 30-second spots. As a benchmark I use 280 syllables per minute, a figure I derived from testing with professional voice actors.
Based on the analysis, ScriptChecker generates a complete briefing document: the required speaking pace for the desired duration, the recommended tone and style, and pronunciation instructions for names, numbers, and special terms. Fewer correction rounds, less delay.
