In 2010 I suddenly found myself in the fortunate position of being approached by both Animal Planet and Film1 to become their station voice. Doing both at the same time was not an option, so after some deliberation I chose Animal Planet — and never regretted it (no offence to Film1).
The Discovery Benelux channel put animals centre stage as characters in their own right: compelling, dramatic and sometimes surprisingly human stories. Entertainment with the animal as lead.
The work was great and the team in the studio was fantastic. I'm still in touch with some of them, more than ten years on. That says it all.
